Everything about Malangen totally explained
Malangen is a
fjord, landscape and former municipality in the county of
Troms,
Norway.
The area is today divided between the municipalities of
Balsfjord,
Lenvik and
Målselv.
The name Malangen is probably derived from the Norse word mál (bag) and may refer to the baggy shape of the fjord.
The same mál is probably also the origin of the name
Målselva, the big river that enters the fjord from the Målselv and
Bardu valleys.
